a nice introductory sentence on Wikipedia; the sad thing is I think that aside from its gearbox the Focus is actually a decent car, except a functional gearbox is a hard requirement for a decent car and thus it is not a decent car.
it’s a bit like asking Mrs Lincoln how was the play, and it’s a good way to feel anxious -- if you don’t feel anxious already -- by spending some time thinking about what if you’re getting nearly everything right except for one small mistake which undermines everything else you were trying to achieve and renders it pointless.

I love my '15 Focus via /r/cars
I love my '15 Focus
Bought this car this summer and I'm just in love with it. Maybe it's just because it's my first somewhat-nice car (used to own a '05 Renault Megane - dreadful car, though I loved that as well). But there's just something about the Focus that makes it... perfect for me.
The interior is really nice, sure it's no audi or merc but it's still really well put together, nice looking, quiet, welcoming and comfortable. The PowerShift gearbox is a dream. This is my first automatic, and I used to be really skeptical of them. But I went from LHD to RHD (moved to UK) and figured it would be useful while adjusting to driving on the wrong side of the road. Anyway, I never have to use the paddle shifters. It changes really quickly and always knows what I want. I'd be really curious to drive a VW DSG since those are supposedly better.
And the 2.0TDCi (150hp I think) really shifts! Put the gearbox in sport mode and it just stays rev'ed up and ready to go any moment. Loads of fun.
Sure, there are a couple of annoying tidbits, like not being able to enable "lock doors when driving off", or the FordSync 2 always defaulting to "home" so I always have to touch into satnav. But I don't care about these things.
Driving this thing puts a smile on my face every time. Just felt like sharing.
